New Northern Birds Pictures

Northern Birds is a new gallery of Birds stock images by David C Hancock. The Top End contains more than two thirds of Australia's bird species, many of them with strong ties to waterways and flooded plains. At the end of the dry season birds gather tightly around billabongs and rivers to feed and drink. When the rains come they fly to all corners and spread throughout the country. View the complete set of Northern Birds photos here

Australian Birds Stock Photos

Howard Birnstihl has just published a new set of stock photos. Blue wrens twitter from bush to bush; statuesque night herons defy you to see them move; crimson rosellas and king parrots keep a watchful eye on you as they nuzzle open the seed they hold in a sculptural vice-like claw. Roosters crow and flash spiky combs; pelicans soar, as do eagles. Hawks hover. Gulls aggressively flock, ducks and geese promenade and take their families for walks. Penguins burrow and galahs roost. Owls watch and wait. All have feathers, and lay eggs. Some are pets. You'll find the full lightbox here for full details and all the images.
